The department of LCL is excited to announce a new student scholarship fund, the Mary Rowan Award.
Mary Rowan Award
The UNM Department of Languages, Cultures & Literatures, through the generous support of alumna Dr. Mary Rowan, announces a new scholarship award to fund study abroad, conference travel, and research projects for students enrolled in any LCL program. The Award Committee is looking to disburse money for projects set to take place in 2024. To apply, a student must be currently enrolled in academic good standing in an LCL program as a graduate student or an undergraduate student in a major, second major, or minor LCL program. The study abroad or research program can be of any duration, but longer projects will receive more support.
For best consideration, applications for Spring 2024 awards are due before March 25, 2024. Applications will continue to be accepted until all available funds have been awarded.
Collette Wallace Award
This award is given annually to the undergraduate with a major or second major in the Department of Languages, Cultures, and Literatures at the University of New Mexico who demonstrates the perseverance, warmth of spirit and love of foreign cultures that characterized Collette Wallace.
CAMWS Award for Outstanding Accomplishment in Classical Studies
The Carol Raymond Award for Excellence in French
The Carol Raymond Award for Excellence in French is given to the undergraduate student and the graduate student whose achievements and choices in life reveal a deep appreciation of literature, language and culture in the French-speaking world.
